Tatiana Blanco always refers to the figure in her sculptures. Her artwork is influenced by real figures and her technique is a contemporary interpretation of the traditional form. She portrays her life expereience through human form and seeks to communicate through her figures’ body language. Communication between Tatiana Blanco and her artwork, and between her sculptures and the audience is paramount. Her current work focuses on portraying the universal interconnectedness between living beings. Some of her sculptures are made with aluminium ribbons, referring to dentritic nerves that communicate within the brain or artieries that transport blood and oxygen through the body, while some of her sculptures are casted in fiberglass or can even be casted in bronze. The poses of Tatiana Blanco’s sculptures are visually stimulating and appealing and as the artist states “modern, zen-like, and at times pre-historic”.
